WELCOME TO AOTEA HARBOUR - AOTEAROA ~ NEW ZEALAND
Customary Fishing Permits can be obtained by approaching Kaitiaki from Aotea Moana, who will issue the permit. This does not apply to recreational fishing. Our concern is mainly from marae coming from the outside and claiming fishing rights as well as commercial fishing in the harbour.
Research Permits need to be applied for at least two months in advance so that they can be considered and worked through by Kaitiaki and Kaumātua. Cost = $75 per day applied for.
